The award-winning Get Set for School® curriculum uses lively music and playful activities to teach number concepts, geometry, sequencing, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, and concepts about print.

The Get Set for School Pre-K Readiness & Writing Workshop is an introductory level class.

The K-5 Handwriting Workshop provides dynamic instruction in the teaching methodology from kindergarten through cursive. Includes an introduction to the developmental progression of written production skills, from handwriting to keyboarding!

The K-5 Handwriting Workshop is an intermediate level class.

Pre-K Readiness & Writing Objectives
  • Plan your instruction based on developmental stages for writing readiness and to foster important social-emotional skills in a developmentally appropriate way

Colors and Coloring: Crayon skills, developmental progression from scribbling to coloring and drawing
Pre-Writing: Wood Piece Play for capitals, multisensory activities for capitals
Writing: Developmental teaching order, trace capital letters, write names, number skills, and formation

Directions

From Oakland International Airport (OAK): 12 miles from the hotel
Follow signs to I-880 North. Stay to your left when I-980 and Route 24 split off to the right in downtown Oakland. Follow signs to I-80 (Sacramento and San Francisco). Almost immediately you will also see signs for I-580 West and I-80 East to San Rafael and Sacramento. Take this exit. Take the Ashby Avenue/Shellmound Street exit from I-80 East, staying right onto Shellmound Street for about one mile. Hyatt House Emeryville/San Francisco Bay is located on the left-hand side.

From San Francisco/San Francisco International Airport (SFO): 22 miles from the hotel
Take 101 North to I-80 East. Cross the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge. Follow signs to I-80 East and I-580 West (Berkeley, Sacramento, San Rafael). You'll want to be in the 2nd lane from the left. This makes a left curve onto I-80. Move immediately to your right and take the Powell St / Emeryville exit. Turn right onto Powell Street from the center lane, and go immediately to your rightmost left-turning lane. Turn left onto Christie Avenue, moving into the right lane. Turn right onto Shellmound Way and proceed one block to its end. Turn left onto Shellmound Street. Hyatt House Emeryville/San Francisco Bay is located on the right-hand side.
